Sharjah, Nov 29: New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum today became only the 4th player in Test history to score 3 or more double hundreds in a year.
McCullum hit a 188-ball 202 on Saturday against Pakistan in the third and final Test. During the third day's play, McCullum reached 200 off 186 balls.
The Kiwi batsman joined an illustrious four-man club of Michael Clarke, Don Bradman and Ricky Ponting (all Australia) with his 3rd 200 plus score in Test matchs in a single calendar year.
Clarke scored 4 doubles in 2012 while Ponting, in 2003 and Bradman (1930) had 3 double centuries each. McCullum had earlier scored 2 double tons against India this year.
