Bumrah and Shami share laughs with Indian legend ahead of IND vs SL World Cup 2023 clash in Mumbai

India are up against Sri Lanka in an important ICC World Cup 2023 encounter in Mumbai today (Thursday, November 2).

India, who have already won six out of six matches, are currently flying high and are on course to qualify for the semifinals. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, are in a spot of bother and will have to win all matches to have any chance of qualifying.

The match in Mumbai brings out certain nostalgia as this very fixture at the very venue was the final between India and Sri Lanka in World Cup 2011, which the Indian team won to lift the World Cup after 28 years.

And Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami had a moment with one of the Indian legends who was part of that match in 2011.

After the Toss, India's pacer duo Bumrah and Shami were seen talking with Sachin Tendulkar. The duo were in a jovial mood with Sachin, who was at the stadium for the match. Bumrah was laughing and joking with the great man, while Shami was accompanying the Indian pacer and listening to the duo chatting.

Tendulkar unveiled his statue on Thursday at the Wankhede Stadium. India have made a decent start after being put into bat by Sri Lanka captain Kusal Mendis. Despite losing Rohit Sharma early, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill have made a solid start as India are 72 for 1 after 12 overs.
