With just over 20 days to go before the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 kicks off in the UAE, excitement is building as the ICC unveiled affordable ticket prices for the much-anticipated tournament.
Match tickets will start at only five dirhams, with free entry for those under 18, a move aimed at making the event accessible to all and ensuring the tournament leaves a lasting legacy in the UAE.

To celebrate the announcement, the ICC hosted a dazzling laser show at the iconic Burj Khalifa, lighting up the world's tallest building with a stunning display highlighting the tournament. The visual spectacle captivated onlookers and signalled the beginning of the countdown to the global event.
Speaking at a media conference, ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice emphasized the inclusivity and diversity of the UAE, making it a unique host for the tournament. "One of the exciting things about the UAE is its diversity. It's a place where the entire world is represented! This means that this is effectively a home World Cup for all 10 teams, and players can enjoy the support of passionate fans," Allardice said.
He added, "With that in mind, I'm delighted to announce today that tickets will be available from just five dirhams, and under-18s will go free." This initiative reflects the ICC's commitment to growing the women's game and ensuring that families, children, and cricket lovers from all walks of life can witness the action firsthand.
The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 will feature 10 teams divided into two groups, with 23 matches to be played over 18 days. The tournament kicks off on October 3, with Bangladesh taking on Scotland in Sharjah. The competition will follow a round-robin format, where each team plays the other four teams in their group. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stages.
Group A: Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
Group B: Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies, Scotland
Matches will be held across Dubai and Sharjah, with 20 league matches leading up to the semi-finals, scheduled for October 17 and 18 in Dubai and Sharjah, respectively. The grand final is set for October 20 at the Dubai International Stadium.
Teams will begin their preparations with warm-up matches from September 28 to October 1. These pre-tournament games will help players acclimatize to the UAE conditions and fine-tune their strategies ahead of the World Cup.
