Butt hopeful of resolving IPL participation issue soon

Lahore, Dec. 10 (ANI) : Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt is still hopeful that the issue of participation of Pakistani cricketers in the Indian Premier League's (IPL) third edition would be resolved in the next two to three days.

Talking to media persons here, Butt said the board has not given up trying to ensure Pakistan's representation in the cash-rich T20 league.

"I am fully bent upon making possible the inclusion of Pakistan players in IPL third edition. PCB has not surrendered yet and the issue will soon be resolved," The News quoted Butt, as saying.

It may be noted that IPL chairman Lalit Modi had ruled out the participation of Pakistani players in IPL's third edition beginning March 2010 due to an ongoing Visa problem.

Meanwhile, the Indian High Commission in Islamabad has said that it has not denied visas to Pakistani players, and added that their visa applications were being processed. (ANI)
