Border-Gavaskar Trophy breakthrough stars - explosive opener Sam Konstas and pace-bowling all-rounder Beau Webster were among the Australian players to be included in Cricket Australia's top list of contracted players for the 2025-26 season.
Apart from Konstas and Webster, Matt Kuhnemann, who was reported for a suspect bowling action, also has been rewarded a place on the central contract following his rollercoaster ride of taking 16 wickets in the Sri Lanka Test series.

Meanwhile, young all-rounder Cooper Connolly and top-order batter Jake Fraser-McGurk, have been overlooked in the contract list, even though they are among the probables in the white-ball teams and especially with the T20 World Cup is less than a year away.
Kuhnemann "was outstanding once again in Sri Lanka and we believe he can play a key role across the next 18 months," chairman of selectors George Bailey said in a statement unveiling the contract list.
"With Cameron Green and Mitch Marsh returning there will be welcome and healthy competition for places for the World Test Championship and West Indies tours," Bailey said. "In Sam we see promising upside in a young player who will continue to develop at first-class level and in the international environment."
The usual suspects, Test and ODI skipper Pat Cummins as well as T20I captain Mitchell Marsh alongside regulars like Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Glenn Maxwell, Travis Head, Cameron Green, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon and Adam Zampa were also on the list.
Josh Inglis, Alex Carey, Scott Boland and Jhye Richardson also were included along with Xavier Bartlett and Nathan Ellis, while T20 specialists Tim David and Marcus Stoinis, who recently retired from ODI cricket, were the notable omissions from the list.
Plus, Sean Abbott, Aaron Hardie, and Todd Murphy being dropped from the initial list, which also does not feature Nathan McSweeney, who featured in the first three Tests against India before losing his place to Konstas.
In their first assignment for the 2025/26 season, Australia travel to the Caribbean to face West Indies in three Tests and five Twenty20s in June and July. Australia will travel to the Caribbean immediately after the World Test Championship final against South Africa at Lord's starting June 11. Here is a look at the CA Central Contracts List 2025:
