CA Central Contracts List 2024: Australia Players Who Recieved National Deals For 2024-25 Season

Cricket Australia (CA) on Thursday (March 28) announced the central contracts for the 2024-25 season as 23 players won new deals, with veteran all-rounder Marcus Stoinis the biggest name to miss out on a contract for the upcoming season.

Stoinis, who has been hit by injuries in recent months, was part of Australia's ICC ODI World Cup winning squad last year and remains in selection plans for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, but the all-rounder was among five players to be omitted from the CA contracts.

Apart from Stoinis, fellow all-rounder Ashton Agar, opening batter Marcus Harris, pacer Michael Neser and recently retired star David Warner are the players to miss out on fresh contracts, with CA instead opting to provide deals to a handful of new faces.

All-rounders Matt Short and Aaron Hardie were handed new deals after they were upgraded to the contract list during the summer alongside fast bowler Nathan Ellis, while Xavier Bartlett was the newest addition to the list.

Cricket Australia selection chair George Bailey is confident that the players with new deals have long international careers ahead of them as he justified the contracts to the new faces.

"Matt, Aaron and Xavier have been extremely impressive in the early stages of their international careers. Their performances and the way they have embraced the international stage has been exciting to watch," he said.

"The panel believes they have strong futures and are deserved of their contracts as they work towards striving to become regulars in the Australian setup."

Spencer Johnson, Tim David, Tanveer Sangha, Matthew Wade and Jason Behrendorff, who received contract upgrades in the 2023-24 window, do not make the cut on the upcoming year's list.

The regulars aside, Lance Morris and Jhye Richardson have been retained in the list for 2024-25 season CA contracts. Here is a look at the full list:
