Mohammedan Sporting Club are set to lock horns against Bhawanipore Club in the final of the CAB First Division Championship after both teams registered comfortable victories in their respective semifinal matches.
Earlier in the first semifinal, Bhawanipore Club defeated East Bengal Club by 54 runs. In the second semifinal on Tuesday, Md. Sporting outclassed Kalighat Club by 5 wickets.

Vikas (5-49) and Vaibhav Yadav (4-29) showcased a scintillating display with the ball as Mohammedan Sporting bundled out Kalighat Club for just 167 in 62.5 overs on Day 1. For Kalighat, Kaushik Ghosh top-scored with 52.
In reply, chasing the target, Md. Sporting got the job done comfortably, scoring 173/5 in 46.5 overs.
For Md. Sporting, Jayojit Basu top-scored with a fine 61 while Vaibhav (32 not out) and Vikas (30) made useful contributions with the bat following their show with the ball to steer their team into the final.
Vikas Singh was awarded the Player of the Match for his excellent bowling and five-wicket haul, which was pivotal for Mohammedan in the crucial semifinal.
After Mohammedan's football team qualified for ISL next season, this is a major development for them in the cricket arena. The Final of the CAB 1st division is going to be held tentatively between May 18 to May 22. It will be played at the Eden Gardens.
