The Turbanator is back! Can Harbhajan Singh surpass Wasim Akram vs Bangladesh?

Bengaluru, May 20: 'Turbanator' Harbhajan Singh was on Wednesday recalled to the Indian Test team after a gap of over two years.

The 34-year-old off-spinner, who was picked for the one-off Test against Bangladesh starting June 10 at Fatullah, had last played for India against Australia in Hyderabad in March 2013. He had picked two wickets for 62 runs in that match which India had won by an innings and 135 runs.

Singh, although picked for a single Test, however, has a close record to break. At 413 wickets in 101 Test matches, the Turbanator is currently the 10th highest wicket-taker in Test cricket.

Pakistan's Wasim Akram with 414 wickets is the ninth in the list and Harbhajan needs to pick 2 wickets to surpass Akram, who has the highest number of Test wickets for Pakistan.

South Africa's Shaun Pollock is at eighth position with 421 wickets.

Harbhajan is the only playing cricketer among the top 10 Test wicket-takers

Harbhajan Singh is the third Indian in the top 10 Test wicket-takers' list after Anil Kumble (619) and Kapil Dev (434) and the only cricketer among the top 10 who is still playing.
