Canada win toss, ask England to bat

GROS ISLET, St Lucia, Mar 18 (Reuters) Canada won the toss and asked England to bat in their World Cup Group C match today.

The big news was that England dropped vice-captain Andrew Flintoff for a breach of team discipline.

Several England players were fined yesterday for a late night drinking session following Friday's six-wicket defeat by New Zealand.

All-rounder Ravi Bopara, playing in only his second one-day international, replaced Flintoff in England's line-up, which was otherwise unchanged from the New Zealand match.

Canada made two changes from their seven-wicket defeat by Kenya on Wednesday, with batsman Desmond Chumney and bowler George Codrington replacing Qaiser Ali and Henry Osinde.

Teams England - Michael Vaughan (captain), Ed Joyce, Ian Bell, Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Ravi Bopara, Jamie Dalrymple, Paul Nixon (wicketkeeper), Liam Plunkett, James Anderson, Monty Panesar.

Canada: Geoff Barnett, Abdool Samad, Ashish Bagai (wicketkeeper), John Davison (captain), Ian Billcliff, Ashif Mulla, Desmond Chumney, Sunil Dhaniram, George Codrington, Umar Bhatti, Anderson Cummins.
