After winning the toss and opting to bat first, McCullum fell for a 3-ball duck, bowled by left-arm paceman Mitchell Starc. (Your guide to WC final)

This score of zero by the Kiwi captain is a record now in World Cup final for a skipper. No captain had scored a duck in previous 10 World Cup finals. The highest ever score by a captain in World Cup final is by Ricky Ponting of Australia against India in 2003.

It was a nervous start for McCullum, who usually gives the team blazing starts. The pressure of playing in the World Cup final for the first time might have got to him.
