Punjab De Sher created history at the Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Stadium in Mysuru, clinching their maiden Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) title with a commanding eight-wicket victory over Chennai Rhinos in the CCL 2025 Final.

The victory ended a decade-long wait for the Punjab franchise, who chased down a modest target of 72 in just eight overs to etch their name in the record books.

Opting to bowl first, Punjab De Sher's disciplined bowling set the tone for the match. Chennai Rhinos struggled to build momentum in their second innings, managing only 85/6 in their allotted 10 overs. Shantanu (22) and Pari (20) were the only notable contributors, while Jassie Gill (2/12) and Ninja kept things tight with economical spells. Punjab De Sher's efficient bowling restricted Chennai to a total that was never going to be enough.

Chasing 72 for victory, Punjab got off to a flying start, with Anuj Khurrana (40 off 23) launching a blistering counterattack. He smashed consecutive sixes before perishing while trying for another big hit. Harrdy Sandhu (11*) and Karan Wahi (2*) ensured there were no further hiccups, calmly guiding Punjab to a long-awaited title win.

Earlier in the match, Punjab had posted a strong first-innings total of 103/1, with Rahul Jaittly (43*) and Babbal Rai (40*) playing pivotal roles. Chennai Rhinos, in contrast, managed only 89/5 in their first innings, with Suyash Rai (2/17) and Jassie Gill taking crucial wickets.

The moment of victory sparked euphoric celebrations in the Punjab dugout, with players singing and dancing to Harrdy Sandhu's popular tracks. The win not only secured their first CCL trophy but also underlined their dominance in the final, where they outclassed Chennai Rhinos in all departments.
