The Chrysalis Entrepreneur Forum (CEF) has officially etched its name in global sporting history by achieving the Guinness World Record for conducting the World's Largest Box Cricket Tournament, held in Pune, Maharashtra. This milestone marks the creation of a new Guinness World Records title, as no prior world record existed for box cricket anywhere in the world.
The record-setting initiative began with the launch of the Chrysalis SME League on February 3, 2026, at Bavdhan, Pune, and set the stage for what would become the largest box cricket tournament ever held.

Over 13 days, the league brought together 66 teams comprising 726 employees, all representing Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The tournament featured 135 matches and saw participation from more than 75 organisations across 30+ industries, including businesses from Pune, Mumbai, and surrounding regions. What made this initiative unique was its exclusive focus on SMEs, celebrating the individuals who form the backbone of India's entrepreneurial and economic ecosystem.
The official Guinness World Record certificate was presented by Pravin Patel, Senior Official Adjudicator at Guinness World Records and a retired engineer from the Royal British Air Force, following detailed scrutiny and verification of the tournament. The Guinness World Record certificate was received by Manish Gupta, Chairman, Chrysalis Entrepreneur Forum, along with Rachna Gupta, Founder, and Vidisha Kukreja, Vice President at Chrysalis Business Solutions Pvt Ltd.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Pravin Patel said, "The forum has shown great discipline and enthusiasm in conducting a tournament of this scale. The minimum requirement for this world record is 500 participants, and the forum has successfully achieved it with 726. Guinness World Records exists to felicitate outstanding human effort, and this tournament is a true showcase of that, mobilising more than 75 organisations, 726 participants, and 135 matches played over 13 days from morning till late night. Indeed, a herculean task undertaken by the Chrysalis Entrepreneur Forum."
The core objective of this world record attempt was to celebrate employees and strengthen organisational culture, using sport as a medium to foster unity, energy, and team spirit beyond the workplace. Reaffirming its belief in entrepreneurship as a key driver of societal progress, the Chrysalis Entrepreneur Forum proudly reiterated its motto: "It's Great to Be an Entrepreneur."
This achievement marks CEF's third record milestone. The forum was previously recognised by the Limca Book of Records for Skydiving in 2014 and also holds a Guinness World Record in Scuba Diving. The Chrysalis SME League represents the forum's first land-based Guinness World Record, demonstrating its continued commitment to creating impactful, community-driven initiatives.
Founded in 2012, the Chrysalis Entrepreneur Forum has grown from a small group of 15 entrepreneurs into a thriving network of over 1,500 entrepreneurs across diverse sectors. The forum is chaired by Manish Gupta, whose vision has consistently translated into large-scale initiatives aimed at strengthening entrepreneurial communities and fostering deeper engagement between business leaders and their teams.
Beyond the record, the Chrysalis SME League served as a powerful platform for fostering team bonding, strengthening organisational culture, and recognising employees as integral contributors to business success. The initiative reflected the forum's belief that entrepreneurship extends beyond business growth-it is equally about investing in people, building connections, and creating shared experiences.
The successful completion of this historic record stands as a moment of pride for all participants, many of whom will forever carry the distinction of being part of a Guinness World Record, made possible through visionary leadership and the collective commitment of entrepreneurs dedicated to empowering their teams.
