Bengaluru, February 15: Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly said on Thursday the success of wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal will put pressure on senior spinners R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

During the on-going ODI series against South Africa, Kuldeep and Chahal have picked up 30 wickets from five matches.

They have also beaten the previous mark of 27 achieved by India spinners against England at home in 2006. The only time India's spinners took more than 30 wickets in a tournament was in the 2011 World Cup, where they picked up 34 wickets.

"There will be pressure on Ashwin and Jadeja. Because with their performances (Kuldeep and Chahal) you haven't just beaten the opposition but outplayed them. If you dominate this way, it will create pressure on the others. Ashwin does have a very good record at home. So we will wait and see," Ganguly told India Today.

Ganguly lauded Kuldeep and Chahal for taking wickets on SA pitches, not exactly suited for spin bowling. The Kolkatan said if the wrist spinners continue their form then it will be tough to beat India in limited over matches.

"They have been brilliant. And they have not taken wickets on turners but on good wickets. It's a good thing for both of them. If they keep picking wickets like this than no one will be able to defeat India anywhere," said Ganguly.
