IND vs NZ: India Need 252 Runs To Win

New Zealand have done well to surpass the 250-run mark, a commendable effort given the situation they were in earlier. The final five overs produced 50 runs, which India won't be too happy about. The spinners once again played a key role in controlling New Zealand's innings. After a flying start, reaching 69/1 in the first 10 overs, India's spinners tightened the grip. With Ravindra and Williamson looking set, India needed a breakthrough, and Kuldeep Yadav delivered with two quick wickets, putting them in control. Jadeja and Axar followed up with their trademark discipline, ensuring the batters couldn't break free. Chakaravarthy also made a crucial impact, dismissing the dangerous Glenn Phillips. Daryl Mitchell dug in for a fighting half-century, but it was Michael Bracewell's unbeaten 53 off 40 that provided New Zealand with a late boost when the pacers returned at the death. Back in 2019 at Manchester, New Zealand had posted 239, and India had fallen 18 runs short-this time, they have an even bigger chase ahead. NZ 251/7 (50)

India vs New Zealand Live Score: Team News- NZ

Much like India, New Zealand is likely to stick with the playing XI that secured their semifinal victory, meaning Devon Conway may once again find himself on the sidelines. Their squad mirrors India's in terms of spin resources, with Mitchell Santner, Michael Bracewell, Glenn Phillips, and Rachin Ravindra forming a strong spin quartet well-suited to the conditions in Dubai.

A lingering concern for the Black Caps has been Matt Henry's fitness after he picked up a shoulder issue while fielding in the semifinal. While reports suggest he is making good progress and should be available, a last-minute setback could see Nathan Smith or Jacob Duffy stepping in as his replacement.

There might also be discussions about including Conway in the XI, as his batting style could provide a favorable matchup against India's varied spin attack, which includes two left-arm spinners, a left-arm wrist spinner, and a right-arm mystery spinner. However, given Will Young's recent form and his strong performances during the Test series in India, he is expected to retain his place in the side.

India vs New Zealand Score: Team News- IND

With Hardik Pandya effectively taking on the role of a new-ball bowler, India has opted for a balanced attack featuring two pacers and four spinners in their recent matches. Varun Chakravarthy has emerged as the fourth spin option, complementing the team's strategy well in Dubai's spin-friendly conditions. Given their success with this combination, the team management may prefer to stick with it.

However, there could be discussions around Kuldeep Yadav's place in the XI, as his performances in the last two games have not been up to his usual standards. A potential change could see Harshit Rana or Arshdeep Singh stepping in to add an extra pace option. That being said, captain Rohit Sharma has a history of backing his proven match-winners, making it likely that Kuldeep will be given the chance to regain his rhythm.

India successfully overcame a significant hurdle in ICC knockout matches by defeating Australia convincingly in the semifinals, thanks to a stellar century from Virat Kohli. Meanwhile, New Zealand set a new benchmark for the highest team total in Champions Trophy history during their semifinal clash against South Africa, showcasing their batting firepower.

Kuldeep Yadav has had a mixed campaign in the tournament, particularly struggling in the last two games. While there could have been considerations to bring in an additional pacer, such as Harshit Rana or Arshdeep Singh, India is likely to persist with the seasoned left-arm spinner.

Given his familiarity with the conditions and past match-winning performances, captain Rohit Sharma and the team management may opt to retain the same playing XI.

On the other hand, New Zealand remains hopeful about Matt Henry's availability, as the pacer continues to recover from a shoulder issue. Skipper Mitchell Santner has not ruled him out yet, and reports suggest Henry is making good progress. If he is unable to take the field, the Kiwis have backup options in Nathan Smith or Jacob Duffy, who could step in to bolster their pace attack.

With both teams eyeing the coveted trophy, the final promises to be a thrilling contest between two formidable sides.
