Champions Trophy 2025: South African wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen has been in red-hot form in the ongoing Champions Trophy, registering five consecutive half-centuries and has given a huge 'best in the world' warning ahead of the semi-finals.
With his latest match-winning knock of 64 off 56 balls against England, Klaasen played a crucial role in securing South Africa's top spot in Group A.

Currently ranked fourth in the ICC ODI batting rankings, Klaasen has set a personal goal to climb to the very top. Speaking to Sky Sports after South Africa's seven-wicket victory over England in Karachi, he shared his mindset and aspirations.
"I gave myself a challenge with (South Africa head coach) Rob Walter this trip. I want to be the best in the world," Klaasen said, reinforcing his hunger for excellence.
Reflecting on his approach, he emphasized the importance of playing along the ground and trusting his abilities. "I know I can play situations well and for me, just to keep hitting it on the ground for as long as possible, like I did tonight, is important," he explained.
Klaasen was particularly satisfied with his performance against England, saying, "I'm quite pleased with my innings tonight... standing still and just trusting my technique. I know my swing is good, so as long as it clicks, then I'm quite happy."
With their comprehensive win over England, South Africa have set up a thrilling semi-final clash against New Zealand on March 5. As Klaasen continues his impressive run, the Proteas will be looking to capitalize on his form and push for a spot in the final.
With his sights set on becoming the best in the world, Klaasen's performances in the knockout stages could define his journey toward achieving that goal. All eyes will be on him as South Africa take on New Zealand in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter.
