The ICC has announced four event ambassadors for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025, set to be hosted in Pakistan and Dubai from February 19 to March 9. Among them is India's veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan, who boasts an impressive record in the tournament.
He will be joined by Pakistan's 2017 title-winning captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, and New Zealand's seasoned pacer Tim Southee.

The quartet, with their vast experience, will provide in-depth analysis and insights throughout the tournament. As part of their ambassadorial role, they will contribute guest columns, offering expert opinions on key matches and moments.
Shikhar Dhawan, who was instrumental in India's Champions Trophy triumph in 2013, expressed his excitement about his new role. "It is such a special feeling to be part of a Champions Trophy, and being given the opportunity to enjoy the upcoming edition as an ambassador is an honour," Dhawan said in an ICC release.
With an outstanding 701 runs across two editions, Dhawan remains India's highest run-scorer in the Champions Trophy. He also holds the rare distinction of winning consecutive Golden Bats for finishing as the tournament's leading run-getter in 2013 and 2017.
Reflecting on the high-stakes nature of the event, Dhawan added, "Over the next few weeks, we'll see the best sides in the world competing for the white jackets, knowing that one mistake or one loss could spell the end of their hopes. It's the ultimate competition where it's all on the line, and that is what makes it such a thrilling spectacle."
Pakistan's Sarfaraz Ahmed, who led his side to a historic title win in 2017, also brings immense experience. His leadership was pivotal in Pakistan's dominant final victory against India at The Oval. Meanwhile, Shane Watson, a two-time Champions Trophy winner with Australia, and Tim Southee, New Zealand's leading pacer with significant tournament experience, round out the list of ambassadors.
