The BCCI has given its verdict on the family's appearance with the Indian team in the Champions Trophy 2025.
The Indian cricket team, set to leave for Dubai on February 15 for the ICC Champions Trophy, will travel without their families, as the BCCI's new travel policy comes into effect.

India's campaign begins against Bangladesh on February 20, followed by a much-anticipated match against Pakistan on February 23 and their final group-stage fixture against New Zealand on March 2. The Rohit Sharma-led side will play all its games in Dubai, while the rest of the tournament will take place across three venues in Pakistan from February 19 as Pakistan take on New Zealand in the opening day.
Since the tour is just over three weeks long, families will not be accompanying the players. The BCCI's policy allows families to join only if the tour lasts 45 days or more, and even then, their stay is limited to two weeks.
"If anything changes, then it is different, but as of now, the players are unlikely to be accompanied by their wives or partners for this tour. One of the senior players had enquired about it and he was told that the policy decision will be followed," a BCCI official was quoted as saying by PTI.
He further mentioned that since the tour is under a month, families won't be part of the trip. However, if exceptions are made, the concerned individual will have to bear the full cost, as the BCCI will not cover any expenses.
Families will, however, be present during the five-Test series in England from June to August, with a suitable two-week window for their stay to be determined later.
Previously, the wives of the Indian team stayed in the most recent ICC tournament in the T20 World Cup, Virat's wife Anushka Sharma and Rohit's wife Ritika were present while the family members of the other players were also there.
The BCCI has also enforced restrictions on personal staff, including managers, agents, and chefs, who used to accompany players and coaching staff. A personal secretary of a coaching staff member, who was previously staying at the team hotel during the Border Gavaskar Trophy, is now staying at a separate facility. However, he was still present at every venue during the England home series.
