After the confirmation of the Hybrid Model for the ICC Champions Trophy, a new issue has emerged within the Pakistan Cricket Board.
After India's refusal to travel to Pakistan for security reasons, the ICC implemented the Hybrid format, ensuring India's concerns were addressed.

The upcoming Champions Trophy, which has original hosts as Pakistan, will see India playing all their matches in Dubai and the knockouts shall also be played in the UAE city if India qualifies for them.
The PCB representatives agreed to the conditions after a certain set of their demands were met by the ICC. The Pakistan contingent was given assurance of a Hybrid Model in the ICC tournaments which shall be played in India, while they were also handed a Women's ICC event after 2027. Notably, Pakistan will play their T20 World Cup matches in Colombo in 2026, which is originally being hosted by India.
But despite the resolution, ex-players and some members of PCB are discontent with the compensation and has slammed the board members for accepting that. The infight has already started as some members have slammed the PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi for getting carried away with ICC tactics, as per IANS.
Former Pakistan captain Basit Ali also had a meltdown on his YouTube channel while explaining the PCB conundrum. He said the Women's World Cup was not a proper compensation and accused ICC of handing a 'lollipop' to PCB.
"Now it is being said that in 2027 or 2028, a women's World Cup will be given to Pakistan. Everybody will say, 'waah ji waah! This is great, not one but two ICC events (in Pakistan)!' But what's the point of events like these? It's being done so that in 2026, the Pakistan team will travel to India and the Indian women's team will then come to Pakistan. The broadcasters won't suffer any losses," Basit said on his YouTube channel, as quoted by NDTV.
"Do you know what a lollipop is? This is a lollipop the ICC is giving to the PCB...that if you agree to this, don't ask for anything in writing and we will give you another ICC event. This won't be of any benefit (to Pakistan). They should rather bid for the Asia Cup, which is next year. The PCB should ask for this. The PCB won't benefit by hosting the Women's World Cup or U-19 World Cup. If the PCB accepts this lollipop, they'll be the losers," he added.
