Champions Trophy 2025: 'It's all about us..' - Rohit Sharma ready for crucial Australia clash in Semifinal

India secured a victory over New Zealand in the final Champions Trophy 2025 group stage match, thus confirming a semifinal date with Australia.

The two cricketing giants will lock horns in Dubai on Tuesday, for the first time since the World Cup 2023 Final in the ODI format.

Ahead of the crucial encounter, India captain Rohit Sharma has opened up on his thoughts about the huge match. After the World Cup 2023 debacle, this will be the very first time these two sides will meet, and Rohit believes it will be a close encounter.

"It will be a good game, Australia has a rich history of playing ICC tournaments well, but it is about us and what we want to do well on that particular day. It will be a great contest, looking forward to that. Hopefully, we can stitch one towards us," Rohit said at the post-match presentation after the New Zealand win.

India also handed an opportunity to Varun Chakravarthy in the match and the mystery spinner picked up five wickets. Rohit heaped praises on Varun and said it will be a good headache for the team management ahead of the Australia clash.

"He[Varun] has something different about him, so wanted to try and see what he can offer. We haven't thought much about the next game, but good headache to have," the India captain added.

Rohit himself will be hoping to restore his form with the bat, and perhaps at the coin toss as well. The India captain has managed 76 runs so far in the Champions Trophy and will be hoping to score big against Australia. On the other hand, he has also lost 10 coin tosses in a row and would be hoping to win the crucial one against the Aussies in the semifinal.
