The much-anticipated Champions Trophy 2025 is set to kick off with its opening ceremony.
The eight-team ICC tournament will be conducted in a Hybrid Model as India will play all their matches in Dubai. The Indian team decided not to travel to Pakistan due to security reasons, but as original hosts, the opening ceremony shall take place in Pakistan.

It is scheduled either on February 16 or 17 in Karachi, Pakistan. This marquee event, hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), promises a grand spectacle featuring captains of all participating teams.
However, the question on everyone's mind is: will India captain Rohit Sharma attend the ceremony?
The PCB remains optimistic about Rohit's presence, having secured all necessary governmental clearances to issue visas for captains, players, and officials.
A PCB official revealed to PTI, "This obviously includes Rohit or any other Indian team player, official, or board member."
India's matches, including their opener against Bangladesh on February 20, will be held in Dubai, but the PCB is adamant that the customary captains' photo shoot and pre-event press conference will happen in Pakistan.
An insider confirmed that the ICC is working closely with the PCB to finalize the schedule for the pre-tournament events.
"The opening ceremony, featuring all teams and their captains, will follow usual protocols and is expected before the opening match on February 19," the source shared, adding that the schedule may also depend on warm-up matches.
With the countdown to the Champions Trophy 2025 underway, fans eagerly await confirmation of Rohit Sharma's attendance, which would be a massive spectacle for the Pakistani fans, who may get a glimpse of the India captain. As per ICC protocols, Rohit Sharma's presence in Karachi for the pre-tournament press conference is expected, and it is likely to materialize as well.
