The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled from February 19 to March 9, marking the tournament's return after an eight-year hiatus.
Matches are set to be held across various venues in Pakistan and Dubai. Notably, due to political tensions, India's matches will be hosted in Dubai.

In preparation for the tournament, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been upgrading key venues, including Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The PCB announced that renovations at Gaddafi Stadium are nearing completion, ensuring the venue meets international standards. The revamped stadium shall also be inaugurated on February 8, before the tri-nation series.
An ICC delegation recently inspected Gaddafi Stadium to assess its readiness for the Champions Trophy. The delegation reviewed various facilities, including media boxes, dressing rooms, and enclosures, and expressed satisfaction with the progress. With the tournament just 12 days away, the PCB has been reportedly leaving no stones unturned in their preparation for the venues.
Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi will host the matches and a plethora of world cricket stars will be in action. The Pakistan team is also going to be a star-studded one, with the likes of Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan in the side. With the presence of the global stars, it is often seen that fans intrude into the stadiums to have a selfie with their favourite stars.
It often causes security threats and creates a distraction in the match and the player itself. And to curb that, PCB has reportedly taken a step to train the security personnel on how to tackle the idiotic intruders from entering the ground. Recently, a video has been captured which shows some security personnel storming into the ground to catch a mock intruder and then escort them out of the field of play.
The drill, potentially arranged by PCB and security officials in Pakistan, was captured and has since gone viral on social media. The mock drill was done at the Gaddafi Stadium to ensure players' safety and stop any security threats. Although a section of fans saw the funny side of it, the majority praises the PCB for taking proper rehearsals to avoid any potential issue during the match.
Pakistan will commence their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign in Karachi against New Zealand on February 19.
