Champions Trophy 2025: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a detailed clarification regarding the readiness of its venues for the Champions Trophy, following reports suggesting that the tournament might be shifted to Dubai due to under-construction facilities in Pakistan.
The PCB reaffirmed that Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi will host the event as planned, with all upgrades on track to be completed by the January 25 deadline.

The PCB addressed fans, spectators, and media, assuring that "all upgradation work was progressing on schedule and will be completed before or around the set deadlines." The board further emphasized its commitment to ensuring the venues meet international standards well ahead of the tournament, which is set to commence on February 19.
Key improvements are underway across all three Pakistani venues. Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium has seen its seating capacity expanded to 35,000, with state-of-the-art LED lights installed to enhance broadcasting quality. Karachi's National Bank Stadium has received similar lighting upgrades and 5,000 new chairs to elevate the spectator experience. Meanwhile, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium now boasts 10,000 additional chairs and upgraded hospitality boxes, along with two digital replay screens.
To prioritise these preparations, the PCB has relocated a tri-nation ODI series originally scheduled for Multan to Lahore and Karachi. The decision underscores the board's commitment to maintaining momentum in stadium upgrades.
Additionally, the PCB highlighted meticulous efforts by its curators, led by Tony Hemming, to preserve the playing surfaces. The outfields and pitches have been carefully maintained, with competitive cricket temporarily halted in Lahore and Karachi to facilitate upgrades.
The Champions Trophy 2025 will be played in a hybrid model, with Dubai hosting the final if India qualifies, otherwise Lahore will serve as the venue for the title clash. Each of the three Pakistani cities will host three group stage matches, with Lahore also set to host the second semifinal.
