The ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025, hosted jointly by Pakistan and the UAE, has officially become the most-watched edition in the tournament's history, recording an astonishing 368 billion global viewing minutes, marking a 19% increase from the previous edition in 2017.

The tournament averaged 308 million viewing minutes per over, making it the highest such figure for any ICC event to date. The final, held in Dubai on 9 March and won by India against New Zealand, became the most-watched ICC Champions Trophy match ever, accumulating 65.3 billion live viewing minutes globally-a 52.1% rise compared to the 2017 final.

In India, the final became the third most-watched ICC match of all time, trailing only the 2023 World Cup semi-final and final. The event was broadcast across 29 channels and nine languages in India via the JioStar network, which reintroduced Indian Sign Language and Audio Descriptive Commentary. The tournament also had the highest proportion of digital watch time ever for an ICC event in the country, boosted by innovations like the MaxView vertical mobile feed.

Australia witnessed a 65% increase in viewership compared to 2017, making the 2025 edition the most-watched Champions Trophy in the nation. Amazon Prime Video, which broadcast the event exclusively, saw record-breaking numbers for an ICC event on its platform. In the United States, despite unfavorable match timings, watch time rose by 38%, reflecting the tournament's expanding footprint.

Pakistan, despite not defending their title successfully, registered a 24% increase in total viewing hours from their 2017 campaign.

"We are delighted to share that the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has achieved record-breaking global viewership, making it the most-watched edition of the tournament to date. These remarkable numbers reflect the growing global appeal of the game and the strength of our partnerships," ICC chairman Jay Shah said.

"It's also heartening to witness exceptional growth in markets such as Australia... and in the United States, where Willow TV saw a notable rise in audience figures despite challenging start times," he added.
