But as per a TOI report, captain Rohit Sharma might be rested for the match, with vice-captain Shubman Gill potentially leading the side in his absence.

But despite the latest developments, official confirmation is still awaited. Rohit was notably absent from India's practice session at the ICC Academy in Dubai, fueling speculations that the management is considering giving him a break.

While the outcome won't affect their qualification, this match will determine the group winner, with both teams currently tied at four points. New Zealand hold the top spot as of now due to a superior net run rate.

The decision to rest Rohit could be linked to the minor injury he sustained during India's high-profile clash against Pakistan last Sunday on 23rd February in Dubai. The opener suffered a calf injury while fielding and had to leave the field for around 10 overs before finally returning. Following the match, Rohit assured that the injury wasn't serious, but the team might prefer to keep him fresh for the knockout phase.

If Rohit is rested, India will need a new opening partner for Gill. KL Rahul is the front-runner to move up the order, given his experience in the role.
