Champions Trophy 2025: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli travel as team India first Batch flies to Dubai, Key Player not Spotted

Several key Indian cricketers were spotted at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai as they embarked on their journey to Dubai for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.

The first batch of players took off from the City of Dreams on Saturday (February 15) as they are set for the coveted tournament.

Among the notable names seen at the airport was star batter Virat Kohli, whose experience and consistency make him a key asset for Team India. He was accompanied by all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar.

Wicketkeeper-batters Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul were also part of the contingent, while Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel were also part of the first batch. Spin bowling will be spearheaded by the duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy, who are also travelling with the team.

India captain Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and pacer Arshdeep Singh are the others who have travelled in the first batch on Saturday. Rohit, incidentally, was the last player to arrive at the airport ahead of the departure.

Meanwhile, India's vice-captain Shubman Gill was not spotted at the Mumbai Airport on Saturday, Gill, along with Mohammed Shami and are expected to fly on Sunday and join the team in Dubai.

Gautam Gambhir travels with Coaching Staff

India head coach Gautam Gambhir was also seen along with his coaching staff. Bowling coach Morne Morkel, assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate and fielding coach T Dilip accompanied him to Dubai.

India will commence their journey with a key match against Bangladesh on February 20, followed by arch-rivals Pakistan on February 23. India's final group stage match is set to be played on March 2 against New Zealand.
