Champions Trophy 2025: Suspense Over Tournament Choking Pakistan Each Day | Opinion

Pakistan started the fire in the Champions Trophy 2025. No, not with any kind of performance but tough posturing, saying India "has to come" to Pakistan and much more. India refused and said no way would they visit a terror state where human lives are endangered.

And with much more now coming out in public domain how Pakistan and a state turned rogue, Bangladesh, are now in cahoots, there is no need for India to engage with Pakistan, least of all in cricket. The nexus between Pakistan and Bangladesh, both having turned rabid vis a vis Indians and Hindus, nothing will change for the better.

Pakistan choking as days pass without any clarity on Champions Trophy 2025

How does this affect cricket? It does, each passing day is one of suspense for Pakistan, plus there is zero clarity on the Champions Trophy 2025. Anything can happen is as good as saying Pakistan itself as a host can be done away with.

Images of the stadia under renovation in Pakistan appear like a dust bowl. It's far from finished. Or, is Pakistan finished as a host, time will tell. The tight-lipped ICC approach has led to more intrigue in Pakistan. They have former cricketers who suffer from verbal diarrohea, who speak minus sensitivity.

Someone like Rashid Latif said he lived close to "Bhai" which was scary. If he was saying Latif has links with dons who India are looking out for Latif knows very well. The latest is another gaffe, Pakistan can pull out of the Champions Trophy. Please do, Pakistan, you have no clue what the financial burden will be and how much of litigation will be involved.

Sponsors are from India, official broadcast rights holders will be more than happy if the event in Pakistan is scrapped. A logistic nightmare will be over. So much of suspense, all for Pakistan. All the YoutTube and hatred being spewed on India like venom is pathetic.

Nobody cares for Pakistan or the PCB where Mohsin Naqvi has been caught lying. He was looking for a face-saving formula but attaching so many riders that India as hosts of multiple ICC events from 2025 to 2031 will have to play at a neutral venue is a sore point.

India is a safe nation, why would the BCCI agree to such rubbish of playing Pakistan outside for its own event, the PCB does not know. India is a super power and calls all the shots in cricket marketing. So what if the Test team lost to Australia in Adelaide, they will be ready for Brisbane.

Most important, sponsors, advertisements, TV rights, India has a tight grip over it. And the world of cricket is behind India. None of the nations like Australia, England are worried about the fate of the Champions Trophy. Even if it does not happen, they will be fine.

And if it takes the worst turn of a postponement or totally being moved out of Pakistan, that will be the end of their dream to host a big ICC event. Their political instability is growing as well as the financial distress.

All they can celebrate is flight resumption between Pakistan and Bangladesh! If cricket is a balm for their fans, their media and YouTube experts are destroying every chance of peace.

India is clear, no way they will visit. If they are going to target India's leaders including respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, it is foolishness. Do they think ICC Chairman Jay Shah will bow before Pakistan? No, never.

Its 'Jai Ho' for India right now as they are making Pakistan weep. For the record, Jay Shah will be in Brisbane on work for the third Test in the BGT Series. If Pakistan stops baiting India, half their problems will be solved. No, they will never do it. A terror state controlled by corrupt Army and the ISI will derail even the Champions Trophy as it appears.
