Pakistan is celebrating, as if it has already won the Champions Trophy. One has to pity this petty nation for losing face on a hybrid deal with the ICC and still thinks it has emerged a winner.
Yes, India will not travel to Pakistan in 2025 and as a tit for tat, Pakistan is happy they don't have to play in India. In fact, they are talking about not coming to India for the next three years to play ICC events and celebrating it.

Hang on, why should not India also celebrate? Hosting a Pakistan team each time is a headache. Despite the VIP welcome they get each time in India, logistics and security is a nightmare.
Elaborate security drills have to be tried out, hotels have to be secured and roads sanitised. And even when they are at practice or playing a match in India, the stadium has to be sanitised. Now all that can be done away, no headache for India.
In the past, Pakistan had charismatic cricketers who were crowd pullers. People loved their batters and bowlers. From Imran Khan to Wasim Akram and Zaheer Abbas to Inzamam ul Haq, they had cricketers who were legends and charismatic.
Sadly, the current lot does not evoke the same passion and they lack aura. If anything, this generation of Pakistani cricketers and administrators are full of bile in their belly. Babar Azam is a legend but the rest are all not the ones you will pay and go to watch.
And the worst part, Pakistan's record against India in World Cups -- ODIs and T20 -- is so poor, it no longer grabs eyeballs. For those who raise it to a feverish pitch, the outcome is poor for Pakistan.
It only helps the people who sell TV sets in Pakistan as each time they lose to India, there is outrage and screens are smashed! Of course, some Pakistani fans still love Virat Kohli, but they have made things difficult for themselves.
It is no secret, last year during the ICC World Cup in India not every Pakistani journalist was given a visa. They need to introspect, across the border. To talk of good relations in the past and how some relatives stayed behind is one thing.
By cancelling all cricket in India, Pakistan has done a disservice to their own people back home. So many of them in the past came to India to watch cricket as well as move around as a tourist.
All that is over. It will, perhaps, never happen again. PCB boss Mohsin Naqvi and the political establishment can take credit for it, they have won an ego battle but lost out badly. What these Pakistanis are also not telling their own people is no extra revenue is going to come from the ICC.
They have no chance of playing in the IPL, they cannot play in the Hockey India League. It's a dead end for Pakistan. If cricket was about diplomatic in the past, it has now reached a point of no return. They have made it out as India versus Pakistan not just in cricket but in a real sense.
Patriotic Indian citizens are happy, they don't want cricketers from a country to come which perpetuates terror. For those who are victims of terror from across the border, Pakistan not wanting to come is great news. It's a win-win for India!
