Champions Trophy 2025: Rohit Sharma-led India and Mitchell Santner's New Zealand have already qualified for the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy but the result of their clash is yet to come.
Former New Zealand all-rounder, Jesse Ryder strongly feels that the winner of this very fixture on Sunday, 2nd March will also determine the winner, who will go onto win the tournament on 9th March.

As of now, the Kiwis lead the standings in Group A with a superior net run-rate despite both the teams being tied on same points. The winner of the match will eventually top the group and will face Australia in the semis. If the Indians finish second, they will go head-to-head with the South Africans.
''India and New Zealand is a huge game. Let's say, whoever wins the game, will go onto win the tournament'', Ryder earlier told myKhel in an exclusive interaction on the sidelines of Indian Corporate T20 Bash (ICB).
The last time, New Zealand faced India in the Champions Trophy was way back in 2000 in Kenya, where the Sourav Ganguly-led side lost the summit clash to Stephen Fleming's Kiwis by a narrow margin.
The Men in Blue have lost quite a number of matches against New Zealand in ICC events. Notable ones are at the 2007 T20 World Cup, the tournament which India won, the 2019 ODI World Cup heart-breaking loss and also in the 2021 T20 World Cup in the UAE. Not to forget the World Test Championship (WTC) Final in 2021 as well.
Well, the Kiwis have turned to be a nemesis for the Indians, but it's not like they have lost every matches. In the 2023 ODI World Cup, where the Rohit Sharma-led side finished runners-up, battled under pressure to deny the Kiwis a win.
Ryder also revealed that the Test double century against India in Napier was his best innings, something which he cherishes even today.
''Probably the 200 in Napier, my home ground. It was a nice innings'', the 40-year-old further added.
