Pakistan endured a dismal campaign in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, bowing out of the tournament without securing a single victory. Their final group-stage encounter against Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Stadium was abandoned due to persistent rain, preventing them from salvaging a consolation win in front of their home crowd.
With both Pakistan and Bangladesh already eliminated, the match had no impact on the tournament's progression. However, the hosts were eager to end their disappointing run on a high note.

Unfortunately, relentless rain made that impossible, leaving the ground waterlogged despite extensive use of covers. Puddles formed across the field, and with no sign of improvement in the weather, the umpires called off the match two hours after the scheduled start time.
The toss was not even conducted, resulting in both teams being awarded a single point each.
This result meant that Pakistan achieved an unwanted record, becoming the first team in 23 years to exit a 50-over ICC tournament without a single win. Led by Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan had already suffered defeats at the hands of New Zealand and India, finishing at the bottom of Group A.
Despite their early exit, the Men in Green set to receive a significant portion of the Champions Trophy prize money. The ICC increased the tournament's total prize pool by 53%, bringing it to $6.9 million. The champions will take home a hefty $2.24 million, while the runners-up will receive $1.12 million. Losing semifinalists are set to earn $560,000 each.
Teams that failed to progress beyond the group stage, including Pakistan, will be awarded $140,000. Additionally, all eight participating teams are guaranteed a base payment of $125,000. As a result, Pakistan will ultimately receive a total of $265,000, which translates to approximately Rs 2.31 crores in INR.
Pakistan's performance in the tournament has sparked discussions about potential changes within the squad, with the PCB reportedly considering a major overhaul following this underwhelming campaign. With their next international assignments on the horizon, Pakistan will be keen to bounce back and reclaim their standing in the world of cricket.
