Cheteshwar Pujara on Sunday became the fourth Indian batter to complete 20000 runs in first-class cricket. He achieved the feat during Saurashtra's third match of the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season against Vidarbha.
Pujara, who is out of the Indian Test team since June 2023, scored 43 runs in the first innings, and 66 in the second. His innings helped Saurashtra score 206 in the first innings, and 244 in the second. The Jaydev Unadkat-led team won the match by 238 runs.

The 35-year-old joined an elite list of Indian cricketers consisting of Sunil Gavaskar (25834), Sachin Tendulkar (25396) and Rahul Dravid (23794).
Cheteshwar Pujara has now scored 20013 runs in 260 runs at an average in excess of 50. The right-hand batter has hit a total of 61 hundreds and 77 first-class fifties.
He has featured in 103 Test matches for India, scoring 7195 runs at an average of 43.60. He has 19 hundreds and 35 Test fifties to his name.
Pujara scored a double hundred in Saurashtra's first match of the season against Jharkhand. He scored 49 and 43 runs in the first and second innings respectively against Haryana. With 444 runs in three matches, Pujara is currently the leading run-scorer in Ranji Trophy 2023-24.
