The power war between CoA and BCCI officials reach a new level as Amitah Choudhary prevented from travelling to Colombo

BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary was told by CoA not to travel to Colombo

Bengaluru, March 17: The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) nixed BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary's trip Colombo to attend the Nidahas Trophy 2018 final between India and Bangladesh on Sunday (March 18).

CoA led by Vinod Rai shot down Chaudhary's travel citing that he has not revealed his travel schedule in advance to them.

Choudhary has approached BCCI for foreign exchange on Friday (March 16) after booking his two-way ticket to Colombo.

Choudhary said: "I was invited to witness Nidahas Trophy final as the BCCI director on the ICC board. I represent BCCI in both ICC and ACC. The atmosphere has been so much vitiated."

On Thursday, the CoA had issued a directive that office bearers and their assistants have to take prior permission of the CoA for all official work.

"Any employee/ retainer/ consultant of BCCI who receives a communication from any office bearer and finds that the same is not copied to the CEO and/or the Committee of Administrators, shall immediately forward the same to the CEO and/or the Committee of Administrators, as the case may be."

Another instruction read: The office bearers and/or their respective Executive Assistants shall not undertake any travel including but not limited to hotel accommodations at BCCI expense without the prior approval of the Committee of Administrators."

It has come in the wake of allegations that Amitabh Chaudhary is travelling 25 days a month, staying at five-star facilities and availing premium air tickets at the expense of the Board.
