This was a back of a length delivery outside off. Miller cut it hard enough to beat the sweeper cover fielder. Miller punched a delivery from Mustafizur towards mid-off and managed to steal a double after a misfield from Narine. Victorians captain Litton Das is seen in agony, gets down on the ground.
Just two runs from the final over from Sunil Narine. The champion bowler failed to take any wicket, but finishes with figures of 0/21 in 4 overs. Barishal need 9 from 12.
Another short delivery and another wicket for Mustafizur. Mushfiqur top-edges this time, a simple catch for substitute fielder Forde at fine leg. Two wickets and just four runs in the 17th over. CV need 11 off 18 with six wickets in hands. David Miller has walked in the middle and joined Mahmudullah.
Kyle Mayers departs for 46 off 30 as Mustafizur strikes for the first time today. A miscued pull shot lands into the hands of Moeen Ali at mid-on. Barishal need 12 from 20 balls.
A short ball from Russell pulled to perfection for a six over midwicket. A dot ball follows, Mayers hits back-to-back fours, and then hammers another six over deep mid-wicket to bring end to a 21-run over from his West Indies temmates. Absolute carnage from Mayers. 50-run partnership between Mayers and Mushfiqur Rahim off just 33 balls. FB: 133/2 in 15 overs.
Back-to-back boundaries from Kyle Mayers off Mustafizur Rahman in the 13th over. A wayward slower ball pull fine, and then he adjusts himself to place the ball perfectly between mid-off and extra cover fielder. FB: 107/2 in 12 overs.
Punched down the ground for a four. Russell bowled a delivery outiside off as Mayers got in the perfect position to execute a class boundary. FB: 94/2 in 11 overs.
Both the FB openers gone. Moeen Ali gets the wickets of Mehidy Hasan Miraz this time, caught by Johnson Charles. Comes down the track to the tossed up delivery but ends up giving a catch at long-off after the ball hit toe-end of the bat. Is there a twist awaiting in the mega final? CV will hope for one. FB: 86/2 in 10 overs.
Tamim departs for 39 off 26, clean bowled by Moeen Ali. The left-hander used his feet once again, but the England left-arm spinner pulled back his length to uproot Tamim's off stump. Nevertheless, the captain has done his job and set his team well on course of their first BPL title. FB:76/1 in 8 overs.
There is no stopping Tamim Iqbal today. He is here to make a statement, he has been through a lot in the last few months. Comes down the track and hammers a six straight over Moeen, before following it with two back-to-back boundaries. The Barishal captain has put on a show in Dhaka.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz slog sweeps Narine over deep mid-wicket for yet another six. Fortune Barishal cruising towards the target in some style. FB: 59/0 in six overs.
Tamim Iqbal hits back-to-back sixes to cap off a 14-run third over. The first over long-on after coming down the track, and then a slog sweep over cow corner. FB: 41/0 in 3 overs.
27 runs from the first two overs. Tamim kicked off the second over with a four, Mehidy Hasan Miraz cuts one handsomely through backward point for a four, and the immediately hits a six over fine. 15 from the Borson over.
Excellent comeback from Saifuddin. Russell refused two singles before taking one on the fourth delivery. Jaker follows it up with another single, and gives Russell the opportunity to face the last ball of Victorians innings. However, a leg bye single is all he could manage as finish Comilla Victorians finish at 154/6 in 20 overs. Russell stays unbeaten on 27 off 14, Jaker Ali on 20 off 23.
Fast bowler Saiffudin has bolwed as many as six deliveries including three wides and a no ball to finish the first two legal deliveries of the final over. CV go past 150 in the process. The pressure is getting onto him. And why not? Russell is the man standing against him.
The power of that man is insane!! Three sixes in the 19th over from Fuller. Hammers the second ball over cover, the pulls a slower delivery over long leg, and then another one over extra cover. 21 runs from the 19th over. These are good signs for KKR in IPL 2024, and West Indies in T20 World Cup 2024. Russell did not jst use his power, but stayed calm under pressure to execute the tough shots. CV: 148/6 in 19 overs.
Very smart from Russell. Back of a length delivery as he backs away and guides it over backward point using McCoy's pace for a six! He had to wait for five balls to face his second delivery. Wonder why he was kept so low. CV: 126/6 in 18 overs.
Saifuddin clean bowls Mahidul on te fourth delivery of the 17th over. Tried executing a lap shot here, but ended up guiding the full toss onto his own stumps. Mahidul departs for 38 off 25. Andre Russell is the next man in. Eyes on him now. CV: 117/6 in 17 overs.
Mahidul hits another six for Victorians. What a fightback from him. Length ball on the off from Saifuddin, and Mahidul does no mistake in hammering it over long-off.
Hundred runs up for Comilla Victorians with a wide from Oben McCoy. A boundary on the fourth ball of the same over -- another egde from Jaker's bat. CV: 106/5 in 16 overs.
A slower ball from Mayers, who is bowling his last over. Jaker Ali goes for the drive, but manages just an edge which luckily goes past the wicket-keeper for a four. Mayers finishes with figures of 1/26 in four overs. CV: 99/5 in 15 overs.
Third six of the Victorian innings has come from the bat of Mahidul against James Fuller - the most succussful Barishal bowler today. Mahidul reads the good length slower delivery early, clears his front leg and hammers it over mid on for a maximum. This was a much-needed one. CV: 92/5 in 14 overs.
Comilla Victorians are five down but Andre Russell has still been held back. Jaker Ali has walked in ahead of him at seven. How justified is the move, time well tell. Russell should have walked in and anchored the collapsing innings from here. CV: 82/5 in 13 overs.
CV are in deep, deep trouble now. Moeen Ali has got run out! The entire Victorians dugout is devastated. Mahidul hit one from Saifuddin towards backward point, and called for a single, but a direct hit from Mehidy finds Moeen yards short of the crease. He departs for three off six. CV: 79/5 in 11.5 overs.
Short and sharp from saifuddin as an edge goes past the keeper for a boundary. Victorians and Mahidul won't mind it. Runs are rare at the moment for Comilla Victorians.
Experienced Moeen Ali is out there in the middle and he will have the onus of taking his team to a repectable total. Mahidul Islam Ankon is there with him in the middle. Andre Russell is waiting to walk in next. Some fireworks needed. CV: 73/4 in 11 overs.
Just 67 runs for the loss of four wickets for Comilla Victorians in the Bangladesh Premier League 2024 final. The overseas stars of Fortuna Barishal have done wonders. Here's the summary so far.
Another blow for the victorians. Fortune Barishal are all over Comilla Victorians now. Dangerous Johnson Charles departs for 15 off 16. He gets dismissed by another West Indian Oben McCoy who has struck only in his second over. CV: 65/4 in 9.1 overs.
