Court issues notice on Dhoni over swimming pool

By Staff

Ranchi, Nov 6: Jharkhand High Court today issued notices to Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the state government in connection with the construction of a swimming pool in the under-construction residence of the cricketer at Harmu here.

The court had given them four weeks time to file the reply on the issue.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Muthuswamy Karpagayavinayagam and Justice D K Sinha heard a PIL, filed by Krishna Chandra Sircar and some others of the locality.

The lawyer appearing on behalf of the petitioners contended that there was already water crisis in the Harmu area.

''If swimming pool is constructed in the proposed residence of Dhoni, the people will have more water problem and the water level will go down,'' the court was told.

Earlier, the state government had granted permission to Dhoni to construct the pool in his residence what the Indian captain termed as his dream house.
