The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has confirmed that the 2026 season will begin on August 7, with matches scheduled across a record-equalling eight nations. The tournament will also feature matches at Arnos Vale in St Vincent and the Grenadines for the first time in CPL history.

The season is set to run until September 20, with the final stages scheduled to take place in Barbados.

CPL 2026

Arnos Vale added as new CPL venue for the first time

One of the biggest developments for CPL 2026 is the inclusion of Arnos Vale as a host venue. The ground, located in St Vincent and the Grenadines, has previously staged international matches but will now make its debut as a CPL venue.

Arnos Vale has hosted 36 men's international matches and five matches during the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup The venue gained attention during the T20 World Cup for surfaces that offered significant assistance to spin bowlers.

CPL chief executive Pete Russell welcomed the addition of the venue, noting that expanding into new territories remains a key part of the league's long-term vision.

CPL 2026 to be played across eight Caribbean nations

The 2026 edition will match the tournament record by hosting matches across eight nations, reinforcing CPL's regional identity.

Host nations for CPL 2026:

  • Antigua and Barbuda
  • Barbados
  • Guyana
  • Jamaica
  • St Kitts and Nevis
  • St Lucia
  • St Vincent and the Grenadines
  • Trinidad and Tobago

The multi-nation format remains one of the defining features of the tournament, allowing fans across the Caribbean to experience matches locally.

Jamaica Kingsmen to join CPL as seventh franchise

CPL 2026 will also mark the introduction of a seventh franchise, with the Jamaica Kingsmen joining the competition.

The addition of a new team expands the tournament structure and is expected to increase both the number of matches and regional engagement.

With the league expanding its footprint, the move signals continued growth in franchise cricket across the Caribbean.

Play-offs and final to be held in Barbados

While the full schedule is yet to be released, organisers have confirmed that all four playoff matches will take place at Kensington Oval in Barbados.

Playoff schedule:

  • Eliminator
  • Qualifier 1
  • Qualifier 2
  • Final

Dates: September 16 to September 20

Barbados has frequently hosted the closing stages of CPL tournaments due to its infrastructure and crowd capacity.

Confirmed CPL fixtures at Arnos Vale

The first set of fixtures scheduled at the new venue has already been confirmed.

Arnos Vale fixtures:

  • August 7 - Jamaica Kingsmen vs Antigua and Barbuda Falcons
  • August 8 - St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Trinbago Knight Riders
  • August 9 - Antigua and Barbuda Falcons vs St Lucia Kings

These matches will mark the historic debut of CPL cricket at Arnos Vale.

Schedule clash with The Hundred could impact player availability

CPL 2026 will overlap with England's The Hundred tournament, which could affect the availability of several international players.

Notably, players such as Nicholas Pooran and Sherfane Rutherford may face scheduling conflicts during the latter stages of the season.

This overlap continues to highlight the crowded global T20 calendar, with multiple franchise leagues competing for player availability.

With a new franchise, an additional venue, and matches across eight nations, CPL 2026 appears set to be one of the league's most expansive editions.

The inclusion of Arnos Vale reflects the tournament's ambition to strengthen its presence across the Caribbean while maintaining its regional identity.

As the tournament moves closer to its August start, the release of the full fixture list is expected to provide further clarity on match distribution and team schedules.
