Cricket betting: 3 businessmen surrender before court
Chennai, Mar 29 (UNI) Soon after the arrest of three men on suspicion of running a cricket betting racket, their bosses, also wanted in connection with the case, surrendered before the XIV Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Egmore last evening.
The three city-based businessmen were released after they submitted a bail petition, according to police sources here today.
A hard copy in coded language and Rs 50,000 were recovered from the arrested trio.
The businessmen had surrendered apprehending arrest after police took into custody three of their workers.
Nandagopal, Jothi and Krishna and interrogated them.
The businessmen were booked under Section 49 (A) of Class III (illegal betting under City Police Act), which was bailable, the sources added.
