Cricket-England beat India to take 3-1 lead
MANCHESTER, England, Aug 30 (Reuters) England fought back to beat India by three wickets at Old Trafford today and take a 3-1 lead after the fourth one-day international in their seven-match series.
After restricting India to 212 all out in 49.4 overs, England overcame a faltering start in response, including the loss of run-out captain Paul Collingwood (47), to score 213 for seven and claim a thrilling triumph.
Stuart Broad, 21, son of former test player Chris, was the England hero, taking four for 51 with the ball before scoring a composed 45 to steady the innings after coming in at 114 for seven.
Sachin Tendulkar hit 55 from 86 balls and Yuvraj Singh 71 from 104 in India's innings, but it was not enough as Broad combined with Ravi Bopara (43 not out) to carry England to victory with a record eighth-wicket partnership of 99.
