Cricket evolving to be better but stressed: Dravid

Kochi, Oct 3 (UNI) Taking a positive stand on the Twenty20 cricket, former Indian captain Rahul Dravid said the game is evolving for the good but stressed that the basic remains the same in all forms of the game.

Addressing a gathering, after receiving the outstanding cricketers' award along with batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar for the period 1996-2006 here last night, Dravid said, with the advent of the new format, cricket had become faster and thus more importance should be given to the training regime.

He said fielding should be superlative and the players play positive and aggressive cricket.

It was great watching Indian team winning the T20 championship and delighted to see players hitting big shots.

Echoing the views of his teammate, Sachin also said cricket had changed a lot and fitness had become an integral part of the game.

The youngsters were enjoying the game and it was good to see them in a positive frame of mind, he added.

When asked about his happiest moment in his cricketing career, Sachin said, ''I cherish the wins against Australia, England and South Africa in their home turf as it was always my dream to taste success in away matches.'' UNI MA GKT TB ht1320
