Cricket has edge over other sports: Sinimole

Ranchi, Jan 13 (UNI) Bronze winner in Doha Asiad Sinimole Paulose today said cricket being a ''funny'' game, has natural edge over other games in the country and stressed for better facilities to groom athletics at grass roots level to bring laurels at international level.

Sinimole, who got bronze in the 1500 mtr race in Doha Asiad also stressed the need for people's inolvement in other games other than cricket.

She said it was a common sight that cicket is played in nook and corners of the country by people irrespective of age and hoped the common people would take other games too.

She refused to comment when asked if cricket's popularity had affected the prospect of other games in India saying it was left to the people for their assessment.

She felt that with change of attitude towards other games would certainly hange the scenario.
