Cricket Updates for July 6: India T20I squad for the West Indies tour was announced on Wednesday (July 5) night, while two crucial matches have been lined up for Thursday (July 6).
On July 6, Netherlands and Scotland will fight for their ticket to India in their final ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Qualifier Super Six stage match at the Queen Sports Club in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Scotland with a good Net Run Rate (NRR) are well-poised to finish second in the Super Six table.

A win for Scotland assures them swift passage, while the Dutch will need a big margin win to topple the Scots and join Sri Lanka as the two teams to qualify for the show-piece tournament in October-November.

At the close of play on day 1, England reached 68 for the loss of three wickets. The hosts trail by 195 runs in the first innings. Joe Root - 19* & Jonny Bairstow - 1* were at the crease when the umpires signalled stumps. Mitchell Starc (1/9) and Pat Cummins (2/28) picked up wickets for Australia.
Australia were bundled out for 263 in 60.4 overs in their first innings, courtesy of a superb five-wicket haul from Mark Wood. England's merchant of pace decimated the Aussie batting line-up on day one. Marsh's 118 was the only highlight for the visitors on a spicy Headingley track.
In the second semi-final, North Zone took a lead of 54 runs against South Zone at stumps on Day 2. North Zone - who are being led by Jayant Yadav - reached 51/2 in 11 overs at the close of play after restricting South Zone for 195 in their first innings and taking a slender 3-run lead. For South Zone, Mayank Agarwal (76) was the only positive with the bat.
In the Duleep Trophy semi-final between West Zone and Central Zone, West Zone reached 149-3 in 39 overs in their second innings in Central Zone's response to 128 in their first innings. Cheteshwar Pujara and Suryakumar Yadav - who were dropped from India's Test side - slammed half-centuries. Pujara is unbeaten on 50 while SKY was dismissed for 52. At the close of play on Day 2, West Zone extended a lead of 241 runs.
Mitchell Marsh's impactful knock comes to an end as he's been dismissed for 118 by Chris Woakes as Zak Crawley took an important catch to break a century partnership. Marsh slammed his third Ashes Test century and revived his team from troubled waters. In-form Travis Head, meanwhile, played second fiddle as Marsh was playing attacking cricket. Marsh's departure at the stroke of tea break comes as a dampener for the Aussies but they must be pretty happy with his effort.
In the run chase, Netherlands needed 114 runs in 13 overs with five wickets in hand. Bas de Leede along with Saqib Zulfiqar ensured the Dutch stayed in the hunt. Once de Leede notched up his century, there was no stopping him and guided his team home with his player-of-the-match performance.

He first picked up a fifer and later notched up a sublime century with the bat as NED reached 278 for 6 in 42.5 overs.

Mitchell Marsh has notched up a fiery Ashes century and proved why he's rated so highly as an all-rounder. The right-handed batter slammed his ton off just 102 deliveries and justified his selection in the big game.
All-rounder Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head revive Australia from a precarious situation in the second session with a solid partnership of 80 runs, and counting, for the fifth wicket. Marsh - who made his Test comeback in the match - slammed a fine half-century and is batting on 58* while Travis Head has scored 24* as the Aussies reached 159 for 4 in 40 overs.

Australia's top order failed to give their team a good start in the third Ashes 2023 Test in Headingley. Australia reached 91 for the loss of 4 wickets in the opening session on Day 1. David Warner (4) was dismissed for the 16th time in his career by Broad while his opening partner Usman Khawaja (13) was clean bowled by Mark Wood for 13. Marnus Labuschagne (21) and Steve Smith (22) were dismissed cheaply by Chris Woakes and Broad respectively.
