Cricket lovers can anticipate competitive cricket

Bangalore, Oct 1 : Senior Cricket Analyst and Statistician H. R. Gopalakrishna on Wednesday said that cricket lovers can witness a competitive cricket during the India-Australia test series starting from October 9th in Bangalore.

Talking to Asian News International , Gopalakrishna said Australia team should not be underestimated for the reason that they are inexperienced.

He said that several records are in the pipeline during the series. He revealed for the first time that Matthew Hayden has scored 990 boundaries and will be the first opener batsman to score 1000 boundaries during the test series.

Gopalakrishna expressed confidence over Sachin Tendulkar and said he will continue to play good cricket in future.

The test series will begin from October 9 in Bangalore followed by matches in Mohali from October 17 to 21, in Delhi from October 29 to November 2 and in Nagpur from November 5 to 9.

The 15-member squad comprises of Anil Kumble (captain), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly, S Badrinath, MS Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Ishant Sharma, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, RP Singh and Amit Mishra.
