Srikakulam (AP), July 12: A 20-year-old youth was beaten to death during a cricket match near Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh on Saturday, July 11.

The incident took place at Bondilipuram village when two teams were playing cricket at a local ground.

A quarrel broke out between the two sides which took a violent turn when one of the players, Patta Ajay Kumar, a degree student, was attacked by Pamula Kishore, a rival team member, police said.

Kishore, 21, an engineering student, thrashed Kumar with a bat, leading to his death.

He then fled from the ground, they said. Superintendent of Police A S Khan visited the scene of offence and instructed police to nab the culprit.
