Karachi, Aug 11: Social media was flooded with tributes to legendary Pakistan batsman Hanif Mohammad (81), who passed away at a hospital here on Thursday (Aug 11).
'Little Master' Hanif Mohammad passes away aged 81
The legend suffered from lung cancer for which he underwent surgery in London in 2013. He was shifted to the ventilator at the Aga Khan Hospital here a couple of days ago after his health deteriorated after being hospitalised three weeks ago due to breathing problems.

Former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis also took to the social networking site to express his condolences: "We lost our #Hero #HanifMohammad today. May ALLAH rest his soul in peace. Sir you will always stay in our hearts. We will miss you dearly."
Pacer Wasim Akram said: "Rest in peace Little Master. The legendary batsmen Hanif Mohammad will be missed but never forgotten. My love to Shoaib and family at this time"
Rawalpindi express Shoaib Akhtar wrote: "Devastated on losing Hanif Mohammed saab. The art of batting today lost its top craftsman. RIP Sir"
Born in Junagadh, Hanif still holds the record for the highest score (337) in an innings by a Pakistani batsman, followed by Inzamamul Haq (329) and Younus Khan (313). He was also named Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1968.
