Chennai Super Kings batter Ajinkya Rahane recently visited one of the Super Kings academies in the city of Tiruchirapalli (Trichy) in Tamil Nadu.

The academy in Trichy is being established at the Kamala Niketan Montessori school and is set to be operated from April this year. In a bid to build future cricketing stars, CSK have already launched academies across the state of Tamil Nadu.

In an event at the academy, Rahane spoke about the importance of developing cricket in different parts of the country and more.

Louis Mariano, Operations Head of the Super Kings Academy, PR Sathiamoorthy, Managing Director and Chairman of Kamala Niketan Montessori School and Sanjay Kalidas, Secretary of Trichy District Cricket Association were the other guests of honour.

"We all know Chennai Super Kings has been backing and promoting youngsters and giving them possibilities to express their talent. I would like to congratulate Super Kings Academy and Kamala Niketan School for this wonderful academy. I am sure this academy will help all the kids to pursue their talent. Personally, for me when I started, I was seven. I started my career in Mumbai. I am sure players from here will go on to play for India," Rahane said at the event.

He also had an important message for the players and coaches as Rahane advised the youngsters to express themselves and follow their passion, asserting the importance of independence in a player's career.

"My suggestion to all the kids and all the players is that play with passion, give your best, listen and respect everyone. And to all the coaches, I feel that you should allow all players to play their game. Don't try to interfere every time," the CSK batter added.

Rahane was bought by the Super Kings in the most recent IPL auction as the Indian batter switched allegiance to the CSK after being released by his previous employers Kolkata Knight Riders.

The four-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings will be kicking off this year's IPL with a blockbuster clash as they are set to play defending Champions Gujarat Titans in the opening match of IPL 2023 on March 31.
