Chennai Super Kings felicitated real-life heroes Bomman and Bellie, the elephant
caregivers, and Oscar-winning filmmaker Kartiki Gonsalves in a special event on Tuesday (May 9).
The CSK captain and India's cricketing stalwart MS Dhoni handed over the trio three customised CSK jerseys with their name on the back.

Additionally, Chennai Super Kings will also be conducting a special felicitation ceremony for the caregiving couple and the filmmaker at the stadium ahead of the match against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday (May 10) at the MA Chidambaram stadium.
Mrs. Rupa Gurunath, Owner Chennai Super Kings, will hand over mementoes along with Chenani Super Kings Cricket Limited CEO KS Viswanathan.
The four-time IPL-winning franchise will also present a cheque to the Mudumalai Tiger Conservation Foundation towards the welfare of elephants.

"We are very happy to celebrate our elephant caregivers Bomman and Bellie along with Kartiki, whose engrossing storytelling spread the heart-warming tale far and wide. It is a matter of great pride for all of us that our own people have reached the global stage," CSK CEO Viswanathan said.
"Conserving Asian Elephants is the need of the hour and we are also happy to extend our support tothe two elephants Ammu and Raghu by contributing towards their living expenses," he added.
The Elephant Whisperers won the Oscar in 2023. The story revolves around Bomman and Bellie, two native from Mudumalai who nurtured an injured elephant calf despite going through several mental and physical obstacles. The story of them caring the injured elephant calf named Raghu was beautifully depicted by Kartiki Gonsalves in the film.
