Chennai Super Kings has launched its Hall of Fame on March 22, 2026. The franchise named Suresh Raina and Matthew Hayden as the first inductees. The announcement came during Roar'26, a mega fan event at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Raina played for Chennai Super Kings from 2008 to 2021. He was part of four IPL title wins in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021. Fans know him as 'Chinna Thala’. He is the leading run scorer for the Super Kings.

Raina scored 5529 runs for Chennai Super Kings. His tally includes two centuries and 38 half centuries. He helped the side win the Champions League T20 in 2010 and 2014. In the 2014 edition, he scored 234 runs and won Player of the Tournament.
Matthew Hayden played for Chennai Super Kings from 2008 to 2010. The 54-year-old batter was part of the 2010 IPL-winning side. He became the first Chennai Super Kings player to win the Orange Cap in 2009 after scoring 572 runs.
Hayden finished his time with the Super Kings with 1117 runs. His runs included eight half-centuries. His powerful start at the top helped shape the team’s early style. His impact in the 2009 and 2010 seasons remains central to the franchise story.

Meanwhile, the former Indian captain then went on to honour India's T20 World Cup heroes, Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube, presenting them with special mementoes. Besides Samson and Dube, Ayush Mhatre, who led India's U-19 team to World Cup glory, was also felicitated by Dhoni.
Both Samson and Dube were instrumental in India's title defence during the T20 World Cup 2026. Post the World Cup, Samson grabbed headlines for his departure from Rajasthan Royals and join the Chennai Super Kings ahead of IPL 2026.
