CSK legend Suresh Raina predicts this India player's T20 World Cup 'ticket is confirmed'

Former India player Suresh Raina has made a bold prediction on an India selection for the upcoming T20 World Cup in June.

The T20 World Cup 2024 is set to be held in the Caribbean and the USA and it will be an opportunity for the Indian team to redeem themselves from the World Cup 2023 disappointment.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli may take part in the tournament, which can be the duo's last World Cup in an India shirt. But apart from the duo, all the other spots are up for grabs.

The upcoming IPL 2024 will be a massive benchmark and players will have to perform accordingly to get their name for the World Cup spot. But Raina believes one India player has guaranteed his place in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The southpaw, who played for CSK in his days, believes Axar Patel is certain to be in the USA-bound flight. Raina heaped praises on Axar, saying the all-rounder knows to vary his pace and can be an uncanny operator.

"He (Axar) bowls in the powerplay. He has done well whenever he has batted. He varies his pace, the way he dismissed Gurbaz (Rahmanullah). I feel his ticket is confirmed," Raina said while talking to JioCinema during the 1st T20I match between India and Afghanistan.

Raina also stressed the fact that Ravindra Jadeja's selection will depend on his IPL performances, but confirmed that the CSK all-rounder has been rested from T20I matches for the upcoming five-match Test series against England.

"It needs to be seen how much they are thinking about Jadeja. He has definitely been rested because there are five Test matches against England. Jadeja is an impact player. It will depend a lot on the IPL performance, the rhythm you are in, and the self-confidence you have," the former India player added.
