Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will have the opportunity to become the most successful team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history by winning the upcoming season which starts from Friday, March 2022.

Five-time champions CSK will be clashing against a star-studded Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening match of the league at the Chepauk in Chennai. A win against RCB in front of the home crowd would just set the tone for the Yellow Army for the tournament which would go until late May.

Fielding a perfect playing eleven becomes a key for CSK to make early inroads in the 10-team competition where making a comeback after slugging in the first half becomes really difficult.

CSK have been hit by a couple of injuries by the season, and that would make the selection of the best playing eleven even more ticket. Matheesha Pathirana could miss the starting few matches of the IPL 2024 after suffering a Grade 1 hamstring strain on his left leg during the recently-concluded three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. Opener Devon Conway has recently undergone surgery on his injured thumb.
