Chennai Super Kings have a huge IPL coming as captain MS Dhoni is likely to play his last season in the tournament.
But ahead of that, the five-time IPL Champions have been dealt with an injury blow. According to reports, one of the star players from last season has sustained an injury and may be ruled out from the IPL 2024.

According to reports, CSK batter Shivam Dube has been ruled out of the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal match between Mumbai and Baroda due to an injury. The Southpaw, who has been a stellar performer for Mumbai this season, has suffered a side strain injury, and thus is likely to be out for the entirety of the domestic tournament.
Mumbai are set to play Baroda in the quarterfinal from February 23, and now Dube's injury has given them a huge blow. The India batter has already amassed 407 runs this Ranji season at an average of 67.83. Along with that, he has also picked up 12 wickets with the ball.
Generally, a side strain injury has a recovery period of six to seven weeks. But if Dube takes longer than the scheduled time, he may be ruled out partially in the IPL 2024, which can be a huge blow for Chennai Super Kings.
The 30-year-old played a crucial part in CSK's title-winning season last year. He scored 418 runs with the bat with three half centuries, and often was the game-changer for the Yellow Army. Hence if they miss him for a few matches, that can be a cause for concern.
The untimely injury has also jeopardized Dube's hopes of making it to the T20 World Cup. The batter had a stellar performance against Afghanistan in the T20I series, scoring 124 runs, including two unbeaten fifties. The batter is expected to make a return and be fit within the first week of April, but any derail in that will warrant replacement for the Chennai Super Kings.
