Ayush Mhatre has been named captain for the upcoming India Under 19 tour against Australia, which starts from September 21.
Mhatre, a player who hails from Mumbai, has risen in leaps and bounds recently, and is now set to lead India again. He recently led the U19 team in the England series. The crafty batter had a superb outing with Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2025 as well, when he was drafted in mid-season as a replacement. The Mumbai player also scored 340 runs in 2 Tests against England.

Apart from that, 14-year-old sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has also been included in the squad. Sooryavanshi was excellent in the England tour as well, and played a blinder of 86 runs in just 31 deliveries in one of the youth ODI matches. He also went on to score 143 in just 78 deliveries.
India U19 and Australia U19 are set to clash in an exciting youth series, featuring three One Day matches and two multi-day games. This tightly scheduled tour offers a valuable platform for future stars to shine and test themselves against challenging international opposition.
