Among the teams, the top four will qualify for the playoffs. As a result, the teams must win games consistently while also keeping a tab on their Net Run Rate, which is certainly going to play a big part in the latter stages. Let's now take a glimpse at the four teams that qualified for the playoffs most times.

1. Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings are the most consistent team in the history of the Indian Premier League, without a shadow of a doubt. Under the tutelage of MS Dhoni, CSK qualified for the playoffs a record 12 times out of the 14 seasons they have played, the most by a team in India's premier T20 competition. Overall, CSK decorated their trophy cabinet with five IPL titles and two Champions League T20 trophies. They were crowned the champions in the last season by beating Gujarat Titans in the final.

2. Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians are one of the most successful franchises in the IPL. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians scaled great heights and underwent a significant transformation, winning as many as five IPL titles. Mumbai Indians come second on the list as they qualified for the playoffs 10 times out of the 16 seasons. Mumbai Indians finished fourth on the IPL 2023 points table and knocked LSG out of the competition in the Eliminator clash but lost to Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2. MI think-tank took a bold call by appointing Hardik Pandya as the new captain.

3. Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be eyeing an elusive Indian Premier League title this time around. Conceding too many runs have often been a chink in their armor but they bolstered their bowling attack by roping in quality pacers and will look to keep the opposition in check. RCB made it to the finals on three occasions but failed to win a title in their journey. However, they have been pretty good in advancing to the playoffs eight times out of the 16 seasons, the third-most by a team in the IPL.

4. Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders are considered one of the top teams in the IPL. They are the third-most successful team with two IPL titles under their belt. The last time they made it to the final was back in 2021. Overall, they have qualified for the playoffs seven times out of the 16 seasons in their journey and will be looking to make a lasting impact in IPL 2024. KKR failed to qualify for the playoffs in the last season wherein they finished seventh on the points table.
